Plotters are used in the scientific and engineering sectors for drawing building plans, machines and machine parts.
Plotters can take A3 and A2 paper and come in different sizes and types. Some of them are as big as a small classroom.
Plotters use precision motors controlled by a computer. These motors move an arm across the paper in the ‘X’ direction and a pen unit up and down the arm in ‘Y’ axis whilst an electromagnet lifts and drops the pen onto the paper, by so doing drawing or plotting an object according to instructions.
